The 30 Richest Drummers in the World
The website CelebrityNetWorth.com has put together a list of The 30 Richest Drummers in the World . . . and not surprisingly, BEATLES drummer RINGO STARR came out on top, with an estimated fortune of $300 MILLION.
The site got their data from, quote, “publicly available information including salaries, real estate holdings, divorces, record sales, royalties and endorsements.”
They also made deductions for taxes, manager’s fees, agents’ fees, and “lifestyle.” Not everyone on the list is a drummer EXCLUSIVELY, but it’s probably safe to assume their net worth includes their non-drumming income.
Here’s the list . . . along with the drummers’ most prominent gigs.
.) Ringo Starr, $300 million (The Beatles)
.) Phil Collins, $250 million (Genesis)
.) Dave Grohl, $225 million (Nirvana and Foo Fighters)
.) Don Henley, $200 million (The Eagles)
.) Lars Ulrich, $175 million (Metallica)
.) Charlie Watts, $160 million (The Rolling Stones)
.) Larry Mullen Jr., $150 million (U2)
.) Roger Taylor, $105 million (Queen)
.) Joey Kramer, $100 million (Aerosmith)
.) Chad Smith, $90 million (The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Chickenfoot)
.) Travis Barker, $85 million (Blink-182 and The Aquabats)
.) Stewart Copeland, $80 million (The Police)
.) Alex Van Halen, $75 million (Van Halen)
.) Nick Mason, $75 million (Pink Floyd)
.) Tommy Lee, $70 million (Motley Crue)
.) Bill Ward, $65 million (Black Sabbath)
.) Jon Fishman, $60 million (Phish)
.) Carter Beauford, $55 million (Dave Matthews Band)
.) Rick Allen, $50 million (Def Leppard)
.) Tre Cool, $45 million (Green Day)
.) Danny Carey, $40 million (Tool)
.) Tico Torres, $40 million (The SUPERSTAR drummer from Bon Jovi)
.) Max Weinberg, $35 million (Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, and his work with Conan O’Brien)
.) Mickey Hart, $30 million (The Grateful Dead)
.) Bill Kreutzmann, $25 million (The Grateful Dead)
.) Neil Peart, $22 million (Rush)
.) Taylor Hawkins, $20 million (Foo Fighters)
.) Questlove, $16 million (The Roots, and his work with Jimmy Fallon)
.) Steven Adler, $15 million (Guns N’ Roses)
.) Mick Fleetwood, $8.5 million (Fleetwood Mac)
I know that being in GUNS N’ ROSES’ classic lineup must be a cash cow . . . but I’d be stunned if Steven Adler still has $15 million to his name, after all his past problems and substance abuse. But supposedly, “lifestyle” is included.
So as you spend your life slaving away for THE MAN, remember: Some guy played drums on two Guns N’ Roses albums, and has $15 million, despite being a total mess for most of the past two decades. Life sucks, doesn’t it?
